PROEDUCATION SCHOOL CHARITY
BALI JEPUN INCORPORATED

Picture

Pro Education School is a proud sponsor of Bali Jepun Incorporated, a non-profit humanitarian organisation, dedicated to educate, improve the health and well being and self sufficiency of children and their families living in poverty in Bali.  Bali Jepun also raises funds to provide additional support to sponsored children and their families on an established need basis.  Bags of rice, some cooking oil, formula for babies and the like are provided to families in the form of a care package during times of extreme hardship as well as assisting in the repair of housing, roofing and supply of mattresses and bedding.

The children and their families who are sponsored, have demonstrated a significant need and have satisfied criteria that the children would not receive an ongoing education without sponsorship and support from Bali Jepun Incorporated. Bali Jepun places a particular emphasis on empowerment and self-development, while always being respectful of local customs, religious and cultural practices.

Bali Jepun also operates a micro loan program that takes the form of providing supplementary income for the families. This form of assistance offers dignified support that empowers people to make positive changes in their own lives, and improve their economic situation. Examples of the micro loans to assist in generating income have been purchase of weaving looms, baby pigs to fatten up for sale, baskets to get produce to market, cake pans for making cakes for the market and various other enterprises as they present.
Once income is being generated, and the family’s economic situation has improved, a repayment schedule for the loan is negotiated with them.  Loan amounts range from AUD$25.00 to AUD $100.00.

We at Pro Education assist Bali Jepun with income from school fundraisers and school community donations of goods, clothing and educational supplies. Pro Education is currently aiming to sponsor the cost of 5 children’s educational expenses.

Our school has chosen to sponsor Bali Jepun Incorporated because it is a well run non-profit organisation which has consistently provided ongoing support for remote communities in Bali over a number of years. This charity is run by a group of individuals with honest and compassionate intentions and is invested in providing educational opportunities that will make a substantial improvement in the quality of children and their families lives.

Our own students at Pro Education benefit from this program by broadening their awareness of the circumstances of people living in poverty, encouraging compassion, developing a social conscience and teaching them their efforts and generosity can make a huge difference and can help the less fortunate help themselves to break the cycle of poverty.

Sponsorship of a child requires minimum effort and expense to facilitate maximum change in a needy child’s lives - a little money can go a long way in Bali. A sponsor of a child is asked to pay $200.00 aud per year for both primary school and secondary school students. This yearly contribution covers the costs of education including schooling costs, books, uniform and shoes each year for the duration of their schooling. There is also the added benefit of the great satisfaction of knowing that a child’s life is significantly improved on many levels, including their education, health, well being and overall standard of living.

Beyond secondary school, a sponsor payment of $400.00 can provide the option of extending a student’s education to school based learning at Hospitality School.  This qualification enables students to obtain employment and experience in a wide range of opportunities such as Hotel Administration, Catering, Chef training and food preparation, Waiting and Bartending, Housekeeping, and other diverse tourism related occupations. Bali Jepun has also assisted a few of their sponsored children to go further on to higher education at University.

Bali Jepun Incorporated is constantly expanding its support of impoverished children and their families in the remote villages of Bali and we welcome new sponsors and supporters.  If you can find it in your heart to sponsor a child, or support the organisation through a donation of money or goods, please send a message via Bali Jepun Facebook page, or visit website and a Bali Jepun Incorporated volunteer will respond to your enquiry.
