Specialist Services
Early Intervention... The key to successful outcomes

ProEducation is a unique school, which offers onsite specialist support. These services help to develop and support the students in our community. These specialists also deliver training, to up-skill our teaching staff and parents. We are the only school in Bali to have this range of support, available to all students.
We recognised the need for a school that provides expertise in specialist areas. These are primarily:
Our Specialist Team therefore comprises of a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Counsellor, as well as specialist teachers who can support students struggling in academic subjects. We are proud of accessibility of these services, any student may be referred for this support at any time. We know that early intervention is key, so we ensure we have the resources to provide that support as and when necessary.
The Speech & Language Therapist
The Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) is responsible for developing optimal communication skills for the student, to help them to achieve their potential. The SLT works closely with the whole team around the student (parents, teachers and other specialists) in order to develop the student’s communication skills, help the student to access the curriculum, build friendships and function in the wider community.
The Occupational Therapist
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides services that support and promote the achievement of independence with activities of daily living; the integration of sensory systems; self-regulation skills; upper body strength and function; feeding skills; handwriting skills; motor planning and praxis; body awareness and environment safety; bilateral coordination skills and balance; visual motor and visual perceptual skills; facilitation of developmental milestones and age-appropriate fine motor skills. The OT is trained to provide skilled intervention to children and adolescents with disorders that affect the development of motor and behavioural skills.
The Counsellor
The school counsellor supports students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development. The counsellor will evaluate students’ abilities, interests and personalities to help them develop realistic academic and career goals. The school counsellor collaborates with teachers to present school counselling core curriculum lessons (PSHE), provides individual and small-group counselling services to students, and assists with college applications, jobs and scholarships.
The Case Manager
At ProEducation School we make our students’ personal and social wellbeing a top priority. To ensure that your child receives the skills and care he/she needs, our dedicated Case Manager works with each student and their parents to incorporate specialist sessions into their school timetable.
Academic Support
In addition, we ensure our students receive academic support where necessary along with extra lessons to accommodate various interests outside of our British and ASDAN curriculum's. These supports and extra lessons include:
Educational Psychologist
An Educational Psychologist specialises in assessing the cognitive abilities of the child (memory, visual processing skills etc). The EP is able to assess learning and study skills, and give strategies and feedback to help the child to access the curriculum.
ProEducation has a contract with an Educational Psychology company in Singapore. There are allocated weeks in the year for the EPs to come to Bali and assess at the school. These services are highly specialist and so are not included in the pastoral care levy. If parents are concerned and would like their child to be assessed by an EP, they may request an assessment during this time. Equally, the specialists from the school may recommend to parents that an EP assessment is conducted, if they have specific concerns about the child’s learning skills.
What is the benefit of Specialist Services on the whole school?
The role of the specialists on-site goes beyond individual therapy. The team delivers regular training and workshops, for the teaching staff as well as parents. This continual professional development, make our team of educators some of the most highly trained in Bali.
The Specialist Team also use a therapy approach, which is integrated across the whole school. This is called Packages of Care, this approach is based on current best practice and means the majority of the students attending our school have access to some level of specialist services.
