The school has two counsellors to support students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development. The counsellors evaluate students’ abilities, interests and personalities to help them develop realistic academic and career goals. The school counsellor collaborates with teachers to provide individual and small-group counselling services to students, and assists with college applications, jobs and scholarships. In addition the counselling team run wellbeing programs school wide. Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) At ProEducation School we make our students’ personal and social wellbeing a top priority. To ensure that your child receives the skills and care he/she needs, our dedicated SENC works with each student and their parents to incorporate specialist sessions into their school timetable. In addition, the SENCO assists teachers with adapting needs of individual students in the classroom. |
Educational Psychologist
An Educational Psychologist specialises in assessing the cognitive abilities of the child (memory, visual processing skills etc). The EP is able to assess learning and study skills, and give strategies and feedback to help the child to access the curriculum. ProEducation works with an educational psychologist based in South Africa who is able to meet with parents and students online. In addition we have a national education psychologist who is based in Bali. These services are highly specialised and so are not included in the pastoral care levy. If parents are concerned and would like their child to be assessed by an EP, they may request an assessment during this time. Equally, the specialists from the school may recommend to parents that an EP assessment is conducted if they have specific concerns about the child’s learning skills. |
